I'm wrestling with this issue right now. I believe that it will barely go through the door sideways if you remove the small trim from inside the door frame. I haven't got to the point of moving the tub into the bathroom in my remodeling project. If that doesn't work, I will have to remove the door frame.
We do include a flexible drain. But that should only be used in cases when you absolutely cannot relocate your waste line. If you are on a regular concrete slab the it is recommended to relocate and utilize an island tub drain for install. If you absolutely cannot move then the flexible drain will work for you. Be mindful that it may drain a little slower using that application.
